Greyhound Package Express - Need labels for packages. Going under bus

Called Chicago station lady said she couldn't help me unless I was in front of her. And hung up on me.

Need to pay for bags and get tags. Location doesn't provide tags or except payment.

User's recommendation: Fix bag purchase app.

Unresolved claim for lost luggage

AI Highlights
  • Moved Seattle to New Orleans with Greyhound.
  • Luggage arrived slowly; 3 items missing; 1 box opened and nearly empty; claim filed 4/29/21; canceled.

In 2021 I moved from Seattle to New Orleans, contracting with Greyhound Package Express to move about 30 articles of luggage. The luggage trickled in 1 by 1 over a period of several months, and greyhound never once notified me of luggage arriving, despite repeatedly promising to do so.

As a result, I made over 6 trips to the station to pick up luggage. 3 articles never arrived at all, and 1 box arrived open and almost empty. I filed a claim on April 29th, 2021. I eventually received a reply that the claim had been cancelled because 1 of the packages had in fact arrived, months late, and missing contents.

No compensation was ever received for the other 3 packages, and the claims department soon stopped responding to my emails. I am requesting the immediate resolution of the outstanding claims for 3 pieces of luggage, for the maximum insured value.

Please give this your immediate attention. I am prepared to take any legal action necessary.

Shipped box filled with personal item from Miami to Fargo nd on 8/23/22. Greyhound assured me that package would arrived in Fargo 9/2/22.

  • 4 packages sent on 7/2 from Tampa to Pauls Valley OK remain undelivered.
  • Customer reports multiple calls with overseas team; supervisor Joselito.

4 packages sent on 7/2 from Tampa to Pauls Valley OK still not received. I have placed multiple calls with your overseas team (just spoke with a Mr Joselito - Supervisor #8729) and there is absolutely no indication that anyone wants to locate these packages. I expect a phone call from a senior person in the United States to explain why Greyhound simply does not care to assist me with my shipment.

User's recommendation: Do not use this method of shipping.

If you do business with them the company retains your credit card information and if after processing your order they bill you extra and deduct the money from the card originally used for payment. They only inform you after deducting the money.

Extremely poor shipping service. Stay away!!!!

AI Highlights
  • Shipped Apr 23 Raleigh to Des Moines; expected Apr 25, not delivered by May 9.
  • Calls to 214227**** yield the same scripted reply; no updates.

Package sent from Raleigh, NC to Des Moines, IA, on April 23. I was told the package will arrive on April 25.

Today is May 9, 18h14, and the package is nowhere to be found. Each time I call 214227****, a CS picks the call and tells me the same story they were trained to repeat: "...we traced your package to destination and do not have any update at this time. Please call back tomorrow....yada yada..."

From April 25 to May 9, I have called the above number twice a day (business days), each time lasting at least 45 minutes. I have asked several times to talk to a manager, but was always told they are busy on another "important" line, as if mine is not important.

Yes, my call is no longer important AFTER TAKING my money..

The service is so poor that there is nothing anyone can do to trace the package. They, themselves, cannot tell where the package is. Their tracking system shows only one event, the one that is most important for them, that is, the package was brought in and paid for. The rest, greyhound does not care.

Folks, when I check the cost of shipping at UPS, it was $45 more expensive.

But I think it is way better to spend extra $45 and have peace of mind than loosing your package and wasting 120minute every day on top.

And the next thing you know, you will be filling a lost package. And that package will find itself in an auction later...

and guess who will be bidding.....

Federal authorities should look into greyhound express package service practices. If this is not a broad daylight scam, I don't know what else would qualify as one.

User's recommendation: DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Save yourself the headache

No resolution to date.

Original review Feb 19, 2022

Item was shipped from OKC terminsl on Feb. 1st via Greyhound Package Express and supposed the be delivered to terminal in Cleveland Ohio on Feb.

9th.

As of Feb. 18th no item has been delivered.

Furthermore package express customer service tracking is useless and that's Only when they answer the phone.

Calling the sending station netted no answer.

Calling the receiving station netted no answer.

Calling stations along route that bus was supposed to take netted (you guessed it) no answer.

I am looking forward to having to file a claim to PayPal and Mastercard.

If you Never want to see your item(s) again by All means ship with Greyhound.

They won't disappoint you there.

I know that you think that this won't happen to you.

Just read the other reviews.

You've been warned.

Their insurance doesn't cover value of lost items

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • 14 boxes shipped; 12 on time, 13th arrived; 14th lost.
  • Two months to tracking stop, then vanished; claim filed, max $1,000; payout=insured/boxes.

'DI shipped 14 boxes across the country. 12 arrived more or less on time.

A 13th finally arrived. But the 14th is lost in limbo. Took TWO MONTHS to make it to the next Tracking Stop and then disappeared again.

Filed a claim. Had selected the maximum insurance -- $1K.

Filled out the CLAIM FORM which demands that you list all the items and provide photos, etc -- in other words a LENGTHY procedure that took a couple of hours. THEN it turns out that the only amount they'll reimburse you for is the amount of insurance divided by the number of boxes!! So, losing $600 worth of stuff in one box = $70 reimbursement. That's not made clear on their site.

I assumed $1K would cover up to $1K of losses -- no matter how many boxes were involved.

The only solace -- MAYBE -- is that if they ever find my box (it's HUGE -- how did they lose it???!) -- they'll send it to me.

So that $70 will at least partially reimburse me for the time it took to file the damn claim.

SPLIT large shipments. They say you can include up to 50 boxes in a single shipment but of course, that's not worth doing considering how they pay out their insurance.

User's recommendation: Only ship stuff you don't care about. Don't ship your clothes or anything you need. Or, make them pick up a different box each day so that each shipment can be fully insured.

Package bus bill number details for prepaid package

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I did not receive the shipping number label and there was confusion around the drop off time. Had to reschedule on the spot.

Customer service on the phone and in the station were both very helpful. The issue was resolved fairly quickly.

User's recommendation: Double check by phone ahead of time that drop off time is accurate. Print label if you can.
